SpeedCap For Linux

Installation

Open the Terminal by going to Applications > Accessories > Terminal



Direct the terminal to the Desktop by typing
cd Desktop




Download the latest SpeedCap.rb file using the command below.
wget http://speedcap.net/img/download/SpeedCap.rb




Right click on SpeedCap.rb and select Properties



Go to the Permissions tab and check the Allow Executing File As Program button



Right click on the Desktop and select Create Launcher...



Type in SpeedCap for the name, then click Browse



Navigate to the Desktop folder and select the SpeedCap.rb file.





Click Ok. Your Launcher is now ready.




Configuring your Browser to work with SpeedCap

SpeedCap by default opens up a new tab in Google Chrome to display your image once captured. To change this to your liking, open up the SpeedCap.rb file you downloaded above in a text editor and find this string:

browser_cmd = 'google-chrome'

Change 'google-chrome' to any of the following:
Firefox
Chromium-browser
google-chrome
opera
Alternatively, you can simply enter your browser's instance definition used for linux.
